This is the intense moment caught on film of a bold lion sneaking up on an unsuspecting leopard having a nap.
Matthew Poole (26), a professional guide at &beyond;’s Kirkman’s Camp in the Sabi Sands, watched this exciting scene play itself out right before him and his excited guests.
“By far the rarest sighting in my guiding career!” Matthew told us.
Matthew continued: “On October 04th 2016, we had started our game drive in search of leopard.
After hearing a male leopard had been found we all got excited and headed into the area.
The male leopard started to walk along the banks of the Sand river scent marking all the way. It was at this moment we noticed the male lion lying in the river on the opposite bank.
I said to my guests 'Can you imagine if these 2 dominant males came together'. It seemed as if my words weren’t cold because shortly after that the male leopard went to sleep and the lion started to stalk him from the other side of the river.”
Matthew stated that he had mixed emotions as this sighting started to unfold.
There was a lot of excitement and nerves building as the male lion started to stalk from across the Sand River.
As the lion got closer to the leopard, Matthew realized that if he caught the leopard, then he would potentially kill it. “At this point I started to warn my guests about what could happen.” But, before they knew it, the lion was right below the sleeping leopard!
Fortunately, the lion didn’t kill the leopard, but the sneaky lion scared the living daylights out of the leopard.
“The lion drove the leopard into a Leadwood tree on the river bank and then had a drink and moved off out of the area”.

A starving young lion certainly managed to get his claws into a tasty little snack.
This intense video keeps you on the edge of your seat as you wait to see how it plays out….
The awesome footage was captured on film in the Kruger National Park (Get free accommodation: http://bit.ly/LatestSightingsDealsy) by Graeme Mitchley (45), Deputy Principal at a School in Edenvale, South Africa!
Graeme was excited about the sighting and told LatestSightings.com: “My wife and I had seen a lot of lions in that area in 2016. Due to the drought, the animals came to drink and the lions were there waiting for them. On this particular day there wasn't an animal in sight, never mind any lions. I commented to my wife that I would love to know where they had all got to. A few minutes later, out of nowhere a lion came walking out of the dry bush with something in its mouth.
At first, it looked like a lioness carrying her cub. However, at second glance, it turned out to be a young male carrying a newborn antelope.
The young lion carried the antelope down into the dry riverbed where we lost visual, but could still hear the antelope bleating.
The lion went into the riverbed also because there were white-backed vultures, hooded vultures and marabou storks in the vicinity hoping to take off with the buck. I think this was pure opportunism on the part of the lion as he must have stumbled upon the newborn whilst walking through the bush.
I am not sure what happened to its mom but she may have been grazing and wandered a bit too far off from her youngster.
While the sighting was being played out, adrenaline was flowing! But watching the video, I could hear the little buck bleating, which wasn't nice at all.
My wife was almost in tears and given a chance she would have rescued the poor thing.
We visit the Kruger often but this was a rare sighting for both of us.
That’s why the KNP is the best place on Earth, you never know what lies in wait around the following bend!”

The "Sweni Mega Pride" of lions on the road are all juveniles. I have counted seventeen. There were at least 8 adults of the road in the bush. The Pride entertained us for about an hour until an IDIOT tour guide from KUBU Safari Lodge spoiled the sighting and all the lions disappeared in the bush. Filmed at the intersection of the H1-3 and the S126 close to Satara and Sweni Water Hole in Kruger National Park

Lion
The lion (Panthera leo) is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia (where an endangered remnant population resides in Gir Forest National Park in India) while other types of lions have disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the lion was the most widespread large land mammal after humans. They were found in most of Africa, across Eurasia from western Europe to India, and in the Americas from the Yukon to Peru. The lion is a vulnerable species, having seen a major population decline in its African range of 30–50% per two decades during the second half of the twentieth century. Lion populations are untenable outside designated reserves and national parks. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are currently the greatest causes of concern. Within Africa, the West African lion population is particularly endangered.

Dev Patel
Dev Patel (born 23 April 1990) is a British actor, known for playing Jamal Malik in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire (2008), for which he won a number of awards, including a Critics' Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Patel is also known for his role as Anwar Kharral in Skins; as Sonny Kapoor in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel; and as Neal Sampat in Aaron Sorkin's HBO show The Newsroom.
Early life
Dev Patel was born in Harrow, London. His mother, Anita, is a caregiver, and his father, Raj, an IT consultant. His parents are Gujarati Hindu Indians. Both of them were born in Nairobi, Kenya, where there is a significant Indian community; they emigrated to Britain separately in their teens, but only met first in London. Patel was raised in the Hindu faith.
Patel grew up in Rayners Lane, Harrow, and attended Longfield Middle School. He had his first acting role as Sir Andrew Aguecheek in the school's production of Twelfth Night. Patel was given the Best Actor award for his performance. He later attended Whitmore High School, receiving an A* in GCSE Drama, for his "self-penned portrayal of a child in the Beslan school siege". His drama teacher Niamh Wright has stated: "Dev was a gifted student who quickly impressed me with his innate ability to communicate a wide variety of characters imaginatively and creatively. He was awarded full marks for his GCSE performance to a live audience and the visiting examiner was moved to tears by his honest portrayal". He completed his AS Levels in PE, Biology, History and Drama in 2007 at Whitmore High School, while he was working in Skins .

Kruger National Park
Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 19,485 square kilometres (7,523 sq mi) in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa, and extends 360 kilometres (220 mi) from north to south and 65 kilometres (40 mi) from east to west. The administrative headquarters are in Skukuza. Areas of the park were first protected by the government of the South African Republic in 1898, and it became South Africa's first national park in 1926.
To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.
The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve (the "Biosphere").

National park
A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of 'wild nature' for posterity and as a symbol of national pride. An international organization, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its World Commission on Protected Areas, has defined "National Park" as its Category II type of protected areas.
While this type of national park had been proposed previously, the United States established the first "public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people", Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a "national park" in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. The first area to use "national park" in its creation legislation was the US's Mackinac Island, in 1875. Australia's Royal National Park, established in 1879, was the world's third official national park. In 1895 ownership of Mackinac Island was transferred to the State of Michigan as a state park and national park status was consequently lost. As a result, Australia's Royal National Park is by some considerations the second oldest national park now in existence.

The Pride entertained us for about an hour until an IDIOT tour guide from KUBU Safari Lodge spoiled the sighting and all the lions disappeared in the bush. This is the intense moment caught on film of a bold lion sneaking up on an unsuspecting leopard having a nap.
Matthew Poole (26), a professional guide at &beyond;’s Kirkman’s Camp in the Sabi Sands, watched this exciting scene play itself out right before him and his excited guests.
“By far the rarest sighting in my guiding career!” Matthew told us.
Matthew continued: “On October 04th 2016, we had started our game drive in search of leopard.
After hearing a male leopard had been found we all got excited and headed into the area.
The male leopard started to walk along the banks of the Sand river scent marking all the way. It was at this moment we noticed the male lion lying in the river on the opposite bank.
I said to my guests 'Can you imagine if these 2 dominant males came together'. It seemed as if my words weren’t cold because shortly after that the male leopard went to sleep and the lion started to stalk him from the other side of the river.”
Matthew stated that he had mixed emotions as this sighting started to unfold.
There was a lot of excitement and nerves building as the male lion started to stalk from across the Sand River.
As the lion got closer to the leopard, Matthew realized that if he caught the leopard, then he would potentially kill it. “At this point I started to warn my guests about what could happen.” But, before they knew it, the lion was right below the sleeping leopard!
Fortunately, the lion didn’t kill the leopard, but the sneaky lion scared the living daylights out of the leopard.
“The lion drove the leopard into a Leadwood tree on the river bank and then had a drink and moved off out of the area”.

The awesome footage was captured on film in the Kruger National Park (Get free accommodation: http://bit.ly/LatestSightingsDealsy) by Graeme Mitchley (45), Deputy Principal at a School in Edenvale, South Africa!
Graeme was excited about the sighting and told LatestSightings.com: “My wife and I had seen a lot of lions in that area in 2016. Due to the drought, the animals came to drink and the lions were there waiting for them. On this particular day there wasn't an animal in sight, never mind any lions. I commented to my wife that I would love to know where they had all got to. A few minutes later, out of nowhere a lion came walking out of the dry bush with something in its mouth.
At first, it looked like a lioness carrying her cub. However, at second glance, it turned out to be a young male carrying a newborn antelope.
The young lion carried the antelope down into the dry riverbed where we lost visual, but could still hear the antelope bleating.
The lion went into the riverbed also because there were white-backed vultures, hooded vultures and marabou storks in the vicinity hoping to take off with the buck. I think this was pure opportunism on the part of the lion as he must have stumbled upon the newborn whilst walking through the bush.
I am not sure what happened to its mom but she may have been grazing and wandered a bit too far off from her youngster.
While the sighting was being played out, adrenaline was flowing! But watching the video, I could hear the little buck bleating, which wasn't nice at all.
My wife was almost in tears and given a chance she would have rescued the poor thing.
We visit the Kruger often but this was a rare sighting for both of us.
That’s why the KNP is the best place on Earth, you never know what lies in wait around the following bend!”

The Pride entertained us for about an hour until an IDIOT tour guide from KUBU Safari Lodge spoiled the sighting and all the lions disappeared in the bush. Filmed at the intersection of the H1-3 and the S126 close to Satara and Sweni Water Hole in Kruger National Park
